DST Announces Updates to SimWise V9.9

Major CAD compatibility update with ACIS 2024 integration and JT file format support

(Canton, MI) – DST (Design Simulation Technologies, Inc.; www.design-simulation.com), a leading provider of affordable and flexible physics based simulation software for the professional and education markets, today announced the availability of SimWise V9.9 Build 3952. This significant update introduces ACIS 2024 integration and adds JT file format support while expanding compatibility with the latest versions of all major CAD systems through 2024.

SimWise V9.9 Build 3952 features integration with ACIS 2024, the latest version of the industry-standard 3D geometric modeling kernel. This update ensures compatibility with the most current CAD file formats and maintains SimWise's position at the forefront of CAD interoperability. The ACIS 2024 integration provides enhanced geometric processing capabilities and improved data translation accuracy.

A major new capability in this release is support for the JT file format (versions 8.x through 10.7). JT is an industry-standard 3D data format widely used for visualization, collaboration, and CAD data exchange, particularly in automotive and aerospace industries. This addition significantly expands SimWise's data import capabilities and allows users to work with JT files from PLM systems and visualization applications.

The release provides comprehensive updates to CAD translator support, extending compatibility to 2024 versions of all major CAD systems including SolidWorks 2024, Inventor 2024, Catia V5-6 R2024, NX 2306, and Creo 10.0. This ensures SimWise users can seamlessly work with the latest CAD data from their design teams without compatibility concerns.

"This update demonstrates our commitment to maintaining the highest levels of CAD interoperability," said Alan Wegienka, DST President. "With ACIS 2024 integration and JT format support, SimWise users can work confidently with data from any modern CAD system or PLM environment. We've also extended support to all 2024 CAD versions, ensuring our customers can adopt the latest design tools without simulation workflow disruption."

SimWise delivers 3D kinematic and dynamic motion simulation tightly coupled with 3D Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Optimization in a single, affordable package. The enhanced CAD compatibility ensures engineers can seamlessly integrate simulation into their existing design workflows regardless of their CAD platform choice.

Current CAD data import capabilities in SimWise V9.9 Build 3952 include:

  • Catia V5/V6: R8 through V5-6 R2024 (.catproduct, .catpart)
  • NX: NX 6 through NX 2306 (.prt)
  • Creo/Pro-E: Version 16 through Creo 10.0 (.prt, .asm)
  • SolidWorks: 2003 through 2024 (.sldprt, .sldasm)
  • Inventor: V6 through 2024 (.ipt, .iam)
  • Solid Edge: V18 through SE 2023 (.par, .asm)
  • ACIS: R1 through R2024 1.0 (.sat, .sab)
  • Parasolids: 10.0 through 36.0.x (.x_t, .xmt_txt, .x_b, .xmt_bin)
  • JT: JT 8.x through JT 10.7 (.jt) - NEW
  • Standard Formats: STEP 203/214/242, IGES up to 5.3, STL

SimWise continues to provide associative interfaces with SolidWorks, Solid Edge, Autodesk Inventor, SpaceClaim, Onshape, and Geomagic Design, along with comprehensive simulation capabilities including motion analysis, finite element analysis, optimization, and fatigue life calculations.

About DST

DST develops physics-based simulation software. The company's products are used by engineering professionals to build and test virtual models of their mechanical designs, and by STEM educators and students in the classroom to teach and learn about physics and engineering kinematics, dynamics, and machine design.

With DST's SimWise 4D, Working Model 2D, and Dynamic Designer products, users evaluate design performance by conducting complete, accurate simulations. Engineers, professors and students can quickly perform "what-if" analyses, find and correct design problems, plus refine and validate designs without the need for physical prototypes.

Students in high school and college use Interactive Physics, DST's award-winning educational software, to explore and understand the physical world through simulation.

DST develops, markets, and supports these software tools for commercial and academic users worldwide. Selected DST products are available from leading CAD suppliers and CAE resellers. Learn more by visiting the DST website at www.design-simulation.com.
