DST Announces SimWise V10.1
Enhanced FEA capabilities and motion solver improvements deliver advanced simulation for challenging engineering applications
(Canton, MI) – DST (Design Simulation Technologies, Inc.; www.design-simulation.com), a leading provider of affordable and flexible physics based simulation software for the professional and education markets, today announced the availability of SimWise V10.1. This update builds upon the revolutionary V10.0 platform by introducing advanced FEA loading capabilities and enhanced motion solver technology for handling complex dynamic systems.
SimWise V10.1 introduces Hydrostatic Pressure Distributed Load support in the FEA module, enabling engineers to accurately simulate fluid pressure effects on submerged or pressurized structures. This capability is essential for analyzing components such as pressure vessels, underwater equipment, hydraulic systems, and any structure subjected to uniform fluid pressure loading. The hydrostatic pressure loading automatically accounts for pressure variation with depth, providing realistic simulation of fluid-structure interactions.
A significant advancement in motion simulation comes with the new Backwards Euler Integrator specifically designed for handling "stiff" dynamic systems. Stiff systems are characterized by rapid changes in system behavior that can cause numerical instability in traditional integration methods. The Backwards Euler integrator provides superior stability and accuracy for simulating systems with high-frequency components, strong spring forces, or rapid state changes that are common in precision machinery, control systems, and high-speed mechanisms.
SimWise V10.1 also provides enhanced integrator parameter access through an improved settings dialog, giving engineers greater control over simulation accuracy and performance optimization. Users can now fine-tune integration parameters to achieve optimal results for their specific simulation requirements.
"SimWise V10.1 continues our commitment to delivering advanced simulation capabilities that address real-world engineering challenges," said Alan Wegienka, DST President. "The addition of hydrostatic pressure loading and the Backwards Euler integrator provides engineers with the tools they need to accurately simulate complex fluid-structure interactions and challenging dynamic systems. These enhancements maintain SimWise's position as the most capable and affordable simulation platform available."
Building on the revolutionary V10.0 platform, SimWise V10.1 combines these new capabilities with the modern user interface, Python API integration, and comprehensive CAD connectivity introduced in V10.0. This creates a powerful simulation environment that can handle the most demanding engineering applications while remaining accessible and cost-effective.
Key capabilities in SimWise V10.1 include:
- Advanced FEA loading with Hydrostatic Pressure Distributed Load support for fluid-structure interaction.
- Backwards Euler integrator for superior handling of stiff dynamic systems.
- Enhanced integrator parameter control through improved settings dialog.
- Modern redesigned user interface with improved command organization.
